HomePage ![]() Mission, Vision and Strategic IntentPHONZ was established to provide leadership in the New Zealand Health sector. It seeks to do this by representing, furthering the interests of, and speaking on behalf of Primary Health Organisations (PHOs), individually and collectively, to contribute to improving health outcomes within the context of national policies and to help reduce inequalities across the population of New Zealand. PHONZ’s major priority is to ensure that the highest efficacy of health services are developed and provided to all New Zealanders through individual PHOs and that important health-related decisions take into account the values of clinical best practice. PHONZ’s vision for member PHOs is for each to be able to optimise its effectiveness, be well resourced and operate in a way that genuinely ‘makes a difference’ by demonstrably improving health outcomes, reducing health inequalities and sharing knowledge and information that will benefit enrolled populations. The strategic intent is to ensure that the health environment everywhere is conducive to PHOs working productively with DHBs. PHONZ will develop internal protocols to ensure that processes of representation are appropriate for constituents and PHONZ and are inclusive of the wider primary health, non-governmental and community sectors. Updated statements of intent were issued in February 07 and September 07. |
